Exiled

Painting Installation – 2026

Exiled was conceived with the cave in mind, a space where I worked and sometimes exhibited other experimental artists.

Three old maps lose their borders under whatever paint was at hand. Across them grow flowers whose veins are cut open in red, rooted in ground away from their land. Without borders, the maps no longer divide; they become a surface for what has been displaced, and the red marks a wound that is also a circulation, continuing despite it.

Installed in the cave, the paintings read as sleepers: flowers dreaming quietly in a place that still had room for them.
